12x12 2-page Scrapbook Layout #38 - Picture Day (LSHD)

Hi Paper Crafters,

The weekend has arrived! I was finally able to get back to my craft table to work on my paper piecing rather than just grading papers and entering lesson plans. This has been a rough few weeks getting back in to the school routine. I am hopeful it will begin to even out and the weekends will be mine to play with my paper crafts.

Tuesday will be picture day. The morning is a bit busy as each class is called to have their "mugs" taken for the new school year ID's and yearbook photos. This includes all students as well as all staff. I am the school's yearbook adviser and hope each year that everyone will make it to school on this day. If they don't, then we have to take a photo and edit in the blue background. Well, actually my son helps us do the PhotoShop work.

Since it is school picture week, I thought it appropriate to make a layout featuring the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs cut file "Picture Day." I have uploaded a video to YouTube sharing my process for how I assembled the layout.

Enjoy!

Paper Crafting Haul - September 2017

Hi Paper Crafters,

I am a sucker for anything new Doodlebug Design! There was a recent release for their new lines Booville and Milk & Cookies covered on a Facebook video. Thus, I had to make a stop at my local Craft Warehouse to see if the lines were available. YES! with haste I grabbed a nice assortment of the papers, stickers, Odds & Ends, washi tape, sprinkles and mini icons to hoard, I mean plan projects with soon.

A second box store trip was to Hobby Lobby with my mom. As luck would have it their paper pads were 40% off. I really did a good job of restraining myself since I had just made a large haul a few days prior. LOL One paper pad and two sticker sheets later, I was walking out the door feeling quite proud of the low purchase price noted on my receipt.

Then there was a YouTube video or two sharing finds from AliExpress. Low cost, free shipping and products resembling some top name company items. I took a chance, signed up for AliExpress and ordered a limited budget of items as a test. You see the products are sent from China with a warning it does take a long time for the items to arrive. I currently have in hand 3 of 6 items I ordered about 2 weeks ago. The products I share in my video, as well as the others I am waiting to arrive, were each under $5 with free shipping. An added incentive... the vendors are not paid until you confirm you have received the items you ordered.

Last but by all means never least, my latest goodies from Close To My Heart. I am gearing up for my holiday card workshops. I also fell in love with the hunting themed set since I do not have anything like it. You can shop all of the wonderful holiday season products on my website. Your purchases help me out in being able to afford my interest of paper crafting and sharing my projects with you.

8 1/2 x 11 Scrapbook Layouts - Jess Crafts Collaboration

Hi Paper Crafters,

This evening I finally had the opportunity to record the scrapbook layouts I had designed using the Jess Crafts digital images. I plan to put together an album for our local grandson to enjoy as I will be filling the album with photos of him and our other long distance grandson. My final step after placing photos will be to laminate the album for him to use freely and store in his toy box here at grandmas.

Please be sure to visit Jess Crafts blog and YouTube channel to see her process videos. She makes great card sets from a single paper pad and typically donates the cards to a charity, children's hospital, etc.

Please be sure to visit her video where she creates cards using the Close To My Heart Beary Christmas WYW kit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WxjpJwoTIY&t=1s

12x12 2-page Scrapbook Layout #37 - Preschool Bears (LSHD)

Hi Paper Crafters,

School is in full swing for my area, how about yours? This was my first year in 18 years not to have a son beginning a new school/college year. My boys are now through college and on their way in the vast world of careers. Looking back, that went FAST.

I still remember the first day my husband and I dropped our youngest off at his K-4 class (not preschool) and stood in the parking lot wondering what to do now that there were no kids at home for a few hours. That emptiness did not last long, I soon started back to Jazzercise, coffee dates with friends and eventually subbing in the school cafeterias.

Now if I could just get the boys' school albums completed then I could move on from their school days. I will never be school free since I am a middle/high school teacher, but the pages I will make now are about my experiences.

This layout is to help inspire you to go back to the beginning and document those memories of the first day of preschool whether now or in the past. File used is the "Preschool Bears" from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

Enjoy!

12x12 2-page Scrapbook Layout #36 - What I Love Most (LSHD)

Hi Paper Crafters,

Happy Labor Day! Enjoying the last of a 4 day weekend before the school week begins. It has been a great few days in my craft room working on some great projects for upcoming design team posts, a collaboration and workshops. Hanging out in my craft room is one thing I love to do most, but there are two things I love so much more...

My two sons, Josh and James. They are now adults making their way in the career world. I took some time to think back over their 25 and 23 years of life and I was filled with joy and love. I am so proud of who they are and cherish our relationship. When we were asked to create a project titled "What I Love Most" there was no question what my images would focus on... being a mom. It is the BEST job in the world.

Please take a trip over to the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs, Design Team blog to see the posts for this week's "What I Love Most" theme. We always welcome you to share your projects with us as well. What are you creating with the LSHD cut/digi files?

LSHD cut files used: "A Mother's Love" "Everyday Moments Love Cards"
All cardstock and inks are from my Close To My Heart independent Consultant website (except retired products)

Walk Through Holiday Expressions (Sept-Dec 2017)

Hi Paper Crafters,

I took a video walk through the brand new Holiday Expressions idea book. Unfortunately the time on my phone ran out and I had to create a second video mostly due to the fact that I gave up on trying things to get them pieced together after too many hours away from my crafting. I hope you enjoy!

September 2017 CTMH Annoucements... A New Holiday Expressions Idea Book

Hi Paper Crafters,

It is definitely back to school days. I started back this last week to get my classroom in order. Several staff members stepped up big time and helped me give my room a much needed face lift. It is amazing how some new paint, purging some unnecessary furniture and "stuff" can make a difference. I am anxious to see the reactions of my returning students.

Holiday Expressions Idea Book (Sept-Dec 2017)

As for my Close To My Heart business, I have a new Holiday Expressions idea book to share with you all. It is chalk full of new holiday themed products... paper packets, embellishments, stamp sets, thin cuts... and on and on. Take a digital walk through on my website.

Each month you can purchase a new D-size stamp set, available for one month only, for just $5. When you place an order of $50 or more in Close To My Heart products, you qualify for this special Stamp of the Month pricing.
